ASSALAUALEIKUM! EID MUBARAK TO ALL!
I am very happy to celebrate Eid. In Islam we have two main celebrations: Eid el Fitr and Eid el Adha. We celebrate Eid el Fitr at the end of Ramdan. During Ramadan we fasted, red the Qur’an, prayed a lot and gave charity to poor people. It is after this period of good deeds that Allah grants us a celebration. We have to celebrate this Eid in a spirit of sharing as the month of Ramadan allowed us to taste the feelings of those who have nothing or do not have enough. We have to do all we can to share with them what Allah has given us, because it is Allah who gives.
Our beloved Prophet (S.A.W) once saw an orphan sad on the day of Eid. He asked him: “Why are you not celebrating with the other kids?” The orphan replied: “I do not have parents, nor do I have a toy or cloths to celebrate with”. The Prophet said to him: “Would you like to have the prophet as your parent and Hassan and Hussein (grand-children of the Prophet) as your brothers?” The face of the orphan was lighted up with joy and the Prophet took him and gave him cloths and toys. He went back to play with the other kids for the rest of the Eid. This story must teach us to share especially on the day of Eid. The Prophet (S.A.W) is our role model.
EID MUBARAK TO ALL!
