HAPPY NEW YEAR 1431 HIJRIYA
I wish all my brothers and sisters a happy new year. Yes, Muslims all over the world are celebrating the New Year 1431 of the Muslim calendar, whose very first month is MUHARRAM (a sacred month during which Allah has accomplished so many marvels). The Muslim calendar started with the migration of the Prophet (s.a.w) from Mecca to Medina and it is known as “HIJRIYA”. That means it is 1431 years today since the Prophet (s.a.w) and his companions migrated from Mecca to Medina to save their faith from the hostilities of its inhabitants.
That said, it is an opportunity for us to recognise Allah’s favours bestowed upon us such as Islam, life, health and so forth.
It is also an opportunity for us to present our wishes to the people around us (parents, friends and neighbours). So, HAPPY NEW YEAR 1431 TO ALL! May Allah grant us many years in good health, happiness and above all with faith.
